Guest Speaker: Sarah Brannon, Attorney for the ACLU Voting Rights Project

Sarah Brannon is a Managing Attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union's Voting Rights Project. The Voting Rights Project litigates voting rights cases, such as voter suppression and minority vote dilution cases, in every region of the country. Ms. Brannon's expertise and area of focus is enforcement of the National Voter Registration Act.

Ms. Brannon started her legal career as a law clerk in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. She has almost 20 years of years of litigation experience, including trial and appellate work in many areas of civil rights and civil liberties. She has worked for several non-profit organizations and several nationally renowned law firms, including Hogan Lovells US LLP. Just previously to coming to the American Civil Liberties Union, Ms. Brannon was the Litigation Director at Project Vote, where she was a member of the Management Team, and primarily focused on achieving nationwide compliance with the National Voter Registration Act through advocacy, providing technical assistance to states, and litigation. Ms. Brannon also has experience enforcing the Voting Rights Act. Ms. Brannon is a graduate of St. Mary's College of Maryland and obtained a J.D. from University of Maryland School of Law in 1999.
