Not quite a grand announcement, and I'm sure Bethesda will be quick to clarify the remark. Watch this space.

from what i hear bethesda has abandoned the support of anything new age like win 7 and they are never releasing a new elder scrolls game, they went to those offbrand first person shooter games and quit rpg games becouse they cant make a rpg that dont crash every 5 to 10 minutes. and the only real good third person shootor is Call of duty and the best rpg maker is lionhead. i know also that bethesda has been loosing ratings on all there stuff becouse every game they make is so buggy and infested with glitches. thats why nobody that has common since ever buys anything they make anymore. i myself am retireing from tes games and will not give bethesda any money becouse they abandoned the elder scrolls games and refuse to fix the crashing or even update the games they make, as for thiere wip games in development, they will not last for long as they are all first person shooters and are not without bugs, modern warfare is a great and bug free game and as for rpg games fable 3 is comming soon as looks real and is far more awsome than anything bethesda would ever do. this is my goodbye from tes games and my goodbye to bethesda untile they finaly release a new moddable bug free and crash free elder scrolls game.
[mod]Rubbish. Nothing more, nothing less. Enjoy the ban.[/mod]

i agree, Bethesda did a hack job with oblivion, if they make a elder scrolls game again which I've decided they wont because they don't know how. they will again need the madders which is us, in order to keep it alive. because without mods this series would have ended with morrowwind over sucky work.

Personaly I'd be content if they made a serious RPG instead of a hack'n'slash action adventure game.
The problem is they have basicly told (in so many words) all of the 'older' players who prefer an actual RPG to shove off, as they prefer ADHD addled console fanbois as their target market.
Dont belive me (Theres gotta be someone who'll call me on it) then why did they advise using a RRODbox360 controller to fix 'issues' with some of their various games that came out around the same time as oboivion....... (or the freaking HORRIBLE GUI thats designed for display on a TV screen being foisted on computer users).
That said TES:V COULD be good.....
IF............
If they decide to not go and blow the budget on HDR bloom and celeb voices that, to be honest, you barley hear thru the period of the game.
But that said, I think they've more than proven themselves to be currently incompetent in producing a serious RPG. Morrowind was ok, it was a hacknslash RPG, but it at least was an RPG (tho it had HEAVY JRPG elements, in that there was no real alternete endings avalible, IE: you cant betray everyone for revenge), then they get a few trek games (admitedly not RPGs, but this fits into their not being able to deliver) and essently deliver a mod of a game that was over 6 or so years old at that point (literly, about 1/3 of the engine, even all of those annoying nebulas in ST:Legacy were DIRECT ports from ST:Armada 2), so then they do oblivion...... Even less RPG elements, I mean for christsake at least in morrowind you could only lead ONE house (unless you knew exactly what steps to take, thru multiple playthrus, or metagamign using internet resources). But yeah, Im not going to go into oblivions issues, since were all players of that game, and the fact that mods are so freaking essentel makes my point.
THEN there was Fallout:3rd spinoff. They used the name of prehaps one of the top 3 RPG franchises of all time (of quality RP of the game, I mean) and they turn it into a total conversion mod for oblivion. Nuclear catapults, indeed.
So yeah, I', hoping for a great TES:V, but Im sure not hopeful.
Ah well, at leat I get a good LOL with most of the mods I DL, wondering how the hell those fools have their jobs, when some of the great modders produce better content while stoned.

I'm kept happy by the graphics on mount and blade and the old simon the sorccerer 1+2 games, no lag, no fps problems, so I do agree on the wish of bath not wanting to impress visually.

I'm a bit late but the reason for the TES instability because the games are so BIG. With so much happening it becomes very difficult to find and fix every bug. If you want TES5 to be larger then you can expect more crashes. I'm personally hoping the gameplay is more like morrowind, with more thought required, not just go to the quest marker.
Sorry if there are any missing Es, my keyboard is dyingI agree. Not everyone can afford an Alienware computer with two processors and two video cards. On my PC to play Oblivion with any kind of acceptable FPS I have to set the resolution to 800 x 600 and disable most of the visual effects. I'm always finding myself wishing that Bethesda had not tried so hard to impress us this time around. Morrowind runs perfectly for me though, and a game with a similar look and feel would not disappoint me at all.

Havig read only a few pages of the whole 14, I personally think the words of one guy were correct..
Parental Guidence is installed on the internet and computers, parents should use it!
Damn right, don't complain about a situation which is able to be ocntrolled. This game made my child violent!
Why did you buy it for them while they were too young then?Etc etc etc...
My personal view though, 2010 is too soon, the game would be beyond buggy.
Graphics, have never been the major selling point for the Beth fans. (Xbox360 and PS3 fans not included.)
A construction set should be allowed, without it, the game would become outdated befor they realease their own patches, let alone updates.
actual things to add to the game itself....
my POV:
A Crafting System!!!!
You are not an armorer if you only repair, your a repair-man(woman) if you only repair, Armorer's MAKE armor.Add the abilty to place your furniture where you like, not at a pre-set design of somebody who studied interior design for a month.
Add a better economy, perhaps one that actually runs and not one based on a pre-set value.
Well thats my three cents.

I'm not sure how it would benefit the game. Although it could be fun it being online..it quite rules out, or minimizes modding.
As no such thing as OBSE could get in..and everyone could only use a specific amount of mods and they would have to be 100% functional as well!
To my opinion..there are already so much mmo's. I don't think they have it too high on their list...This is an article I found today (Wasn't at home back then): Link
Apparently some folks got a bit upset by reports based on Todd’s talk at QuakeCon last week. An article came out where Todd was quoted as saying we had no plans for a TES V. He did not say that. That was not a direct quote from him. That was someone’s interpretation of what he said. I know, I was there.
At his QuakeCon talk he was asked when TESV is coming out and Todd replied, “Don’t look for a new Elder Scrolls game in the near future.” He also went on to say how much the franchise means to us and that it definitely will continue. He just wasn’t going to provide any timeframe on “when.” This should not be news to anyone that has been paying attention. Both Todd and I have said repeatedly that, of course, we’re going to do another Elder Scrolls game. The last one was enormously popular. So was the one before that. You get the idea. So do we.
Todd and Bethesda Game Studios are hard at work on their next big game, and we’re not ready to discuss it. As always, we prefer to have something amazing to show when we talk about it. We aren’t going to confirm or deny or comment on speculation, nor are we going to give hints about anything. If you know us by now, you know we don’t really do that.
In regards to the MMO comment, he was asked if there was “any chance of an Elder Scrolls MMO” and he replied — in a joking fashion — by saying “I guess there’s a chance.” To be clear, Todd and his team do not make MMOs, for any franchise, at all. We have another division – ZeniMax Online Studios – which is lead by Matt Firor, and they are working on an MMO. They have not said anything about what game they are making. When ZeniMax Online is ready to show what they are up to, we’ll let everyone know. Until then we aren’t going to provide hints or speculate on what they’re doing either.
Hope that helps clear things up.

if The Elder Scrolls V comes out, it should clearly be named
The Elder Scrolls V - Tamriel.
It should be online with small servers with around 50 peeps max on, (So on your own server, you could upload mods) then ppl would download your package of mods, put 'em into data files, and log on to your server.
In the game it should include all of tamriel, so that you could travel around, level up, do quests, and maybe even some kind'a Hard Dungeon wich would give special loots?
Really, if Oblivion was an MMORPG, it would be the best.
And the reason it should be all of tamriel is; otherwise there wouldnt be enough buy-able houses for ppl, there wouldnt either be enough space if 50 ppl was to run around in cyrodill and kill monsters.
But I think by letting player host their own servers, it wouldnt ruin the ownage game.
And NONONO Im not saying it should be like WoW or something like that, it should keep the oblivion / Morrowind terms, but just multiplayer, and alot more space, quests, buyable houses, cities, dungeons, group dungeons, group quests. and so on
It should be like a mix of Diablo2's Battle net and Oblivion's Graphics, and finally Morrowind's Sweet gameplay.
